Dr. Josh Barkman
Dr. Josh attended undergrad at NC State which is also where he earned his doctorate in veterinary medicine in 1999. He has a special interest in orthopedic surgery and preventative medicine. He and his wife Mary Jon are enjoying being new empty-nesters. Their oldest, Christian, will graduate with his doctorate of veterinary medicine from Mizzou this May and will join Highland Animal Hospital. Alex is an engineering student at NC State. Their youngest, Mary Reese, is a freshman at University of Miami. They have three dogs; Super and Gunny who are retired racing greyhounds, and Frank who they adopted from the Cumberland County Animal Shelter.
Dr. Kelly Totten
Dr. Totten graduated Cum Laude at West Virginia University and her earned her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Tuskegee University in 2012. She has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and ??? She and Chris live with their sons Braylen and Jaylen. On her days off you she enjoys ???



Dr. Japheth Barkman
Dr. Japheth earned his bachelor's degree from UNC-CH before commissioning into the US Army as a quartermaster officer. After his 4 years of service, Dr. Japheth earned his doctorate in veterinary medicine at NC State in 2016. He has a special interest in soft tissue surgery, radiology, and clinical pathology. He lives with his wife Katie, their 4 sons; David, Joshua, Daniel, and John, and their Golden Retriever Carolina. Outside of work you can find him on the sidelines for his boys' soccer matches.
Dr. Amy Nevens
Dr. Nevens earned her bachelor's degree from ??? and her doctorate of veterinary medicine from UC Davis in 2005. She has a special interest in ??? and ??? She and her husband Jayson have 3 boys Paxten, Easten, and Tysen. Outside of work you can find her routing for all 3 of her sons at their hockey and baseball games.
